Looks like the hatred for Bush and his thugs has
broken the surface in Lebanon.
A top Lebanese politician has enraged the US embassy by saying he hoped the next attack on the the US Defence Department's No. 2, Paul Wolfowitz, would prove fatal.
The leader of the country's Druze community, Walid Jumblatt, described the Deputy Defence Secretary as a "virus" who needed to be destroyed, after Wolfowitz emerged unscathed from a guerilla rocket attack on the fortified Baghdad hotel where he was staying on Sunday.
The US embassy in Beirut described Mr Jumblatt's remarks as outrageous.
Mr Jumblatt, head of the Progressive Socialist Party, said he hoped Mr Wolfowitz, whom he criticised as an architect of the US-led war on Iraq and a friend of Israel, would not survive any future attack.
"We hope that next time the rockets will be more accurate and effective in getting rid of this virus, and his like, who wreak corruption in the Arab land of Iraq and in Palestine," Mr Jumblatt said.
The US embassy issued a statement condemning the remarks as "outrageous and completely unacceptable" and urged the Lebanese Government to do the same.
The US is making itself many, many enemies, and some of them feel emboldened by the incompetence and failures of the Bush cabal.
Mahathir in Malaysia with his "Jews run everything and get others to do their dirty work" is a direct consequence of the perceptions fostered by the WH, now Jumblatt breaks cover and puts the crosshairs on Wolfie.
Its a long way from "We are all Americans today" (September 11 2001) The US has utterly squandered its politial and emotional capital
