I never thought Dr. James Dobson would stoop as low as he did yesterday in likening those who advocate stem cell research with Nazi exterminators on his "Focus on the Family" broadcast.
While stem cell researchers are looking for cures for such ailments as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, the Nazis Dobson spoke of murdered 6 million Jews during World War II.
We must pressure Dobson to apologize and demand that stations that carry Dobson's "Focus on the Family" program stop doing so unless Dobson apologizes.

Here's what I said in my own blog, "Livin' Out Here" (

Dobson Must Apologize For despicable Remarks On Stem Cell Advocates
I used to be a fan of Dr. James Dobson. When I attended a Van Nuys church years ago, I saw films of Dobson teaching on how to raise families and discipline children. At that time, I was impressed with the wisdom of his advise on both subjects. I know for fact that others who saw the same films were just as impressed.
While I have strongly disagreed with Dobson's activism on behalf of the evangelical right in recent years, I never thought he would stoop as low as the statement he made on the August 3 "Focus on the Family" broadcast when he likened advocates of embryonic stem cell research with Nazi exterminators.
Has Dobson no shame? How dare he compare those who trying to save lives through finding cures for such ailments as Alzheimer's disease with those who murdered 6 million Jews during World War II.
I urge all outraged Americans to cut off financial support to Dobson's ministry and stations that carry his broadcast to pull it off the air unless Dobson apologizes for his grossly offensive statements
