On CNN this morning Barbara Starr has been reporting that EVEN IF THERE IS NO EVIDENCE her sources are suggesting Iran may have been DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY involved in the Trojan horse attack which led to 5 American deaths.
I suggest EVEN IF THERE IS NO EVIDENCE supporting it that the Bush adminstration has been DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY involved in spreading this rumor, in banging the drum for war in Iran. Shoddy journalism like this led us into Iraq; we cannot afford a rerun with Iran. So I suggest this....
We consider each time Iran is cited as a instigator and look to see:
1) if the allegation is based on hard evidence, (I do not believe Iran is blameless.)
2) if there can be other factors involved which were downplayed to emphasize Iran's involvement. Was Iran's involvement cherrypicked? In the case of the Trojan horse attack, Iraqi troops did not stop the fake troops at checkpoints. Isn't there something inherently wrong with the security system? Who is repsonsible for training these soldiers? How did the invaders get those SUVs and uniforms? Why isn't CNN talking about these factors?
We need to expose the contrived build up of another war. We need to bang the bangers of the drums. You tell me what other kinds of trickery we must watch for. I suggest we then diary our findings and contact the drum bangers. I've already emailed CNN about the Starr story.
