I just wrote a note to my Congressman Chandler and Senators McConnel & Bunning. I want them to overturn Bush's cruel veto of the children's health insurance program, SCHIP:
My note:
"C'mon now. Even if you believe in your dog-eat-dog world, where absolutely every product and service is a market commodity, you must admit that all governments have a high-yield long-term interest in the raising of healthy citizens. Please don't play your power politics at the expense of American childrens' health. Otherwise we'll know you're just Dead-Beat-Dads, off on your own adventures."
You can write your own reps a message too. This website makes it easy.
A little more downwind:
If George Washington was the 'father' of our country, then George W. Bush is the one who now carries the torch and that makes him the father who has abandoned millions of America's children to the wolves of private for-profit-only insurance corporations or more likely to the cruel Republican world of no insurance whatsoever. In a deja vu echo of the purported words of Marie Antoinette, George W Bush actually said, "...you just go to an emergency room" !!!!! Yeah George, that's good child healthcare. Callous Conservatism is what it is. Be tough like me, growin' up out there on the Texas prairie, clearin' brush an' stuff. Git cut with a chain saw jist smear it with used motor oil an' go on to work.
Please click in folks.
We can overwhelm them with reason & anger.
