Tonights H&C had a good 15 minutes dedicated to Hanity talking with James Dobson. Actually, it was more like Hanity trying to badger Dobson into backing away from a 3rd party threat, but along the way, some really good stuff came through.
First, Mr. Dobson was very clear to claim that he was talking personally and not as the leader of his group. Apparantly, 50 "leaders" met in Salt Lake City and issued a manifesto stating that none of the tier-1 candidates is satisfactory. Then when talking on the air, Dobson is careful to seperate himself from his church. Probably something to do with IRS Church/Politics rules.
What I want to know is did Mr. Dobson's church pay for him to go to Salt Lake City. And what about the other 49 "leaders". But that is for another day. The bombshell happened near the end. This is my hand transcript from the fox news posted video:
Dobson: If Rudy Guilianni wins, I'm telling you the pro life and pro family movement is gone.
If its Hillary, as bad as she is, there will be a mobilization to fight what she is trying to do.
If he [rudy] is put in office by conservatives and by those who are pro life and pro marriage and pro family, I am afraid that we will not recover from it.
So there you have it. The Focus of Mr. Dobson is to keep control over his issue with his base. He does not actually care about what happens in the next eight years. He would rather have a Democratic president than lose his minions.
So, Mr. James Dobson, former head of "Focus on the Family" is now just focusing on power. Family is no longer the issue.
