As you may have noticed, we're getting deep into the Presidential primary season. Candidates are working hard and voters are starting to pay close attention and decide which candidate will make the best President.
Many voters have different criteria for what they are looking for in a candidate, but folks find out about and get passionate about their choice. More casual voters aren't as invested, but they look for a candidate who's going to work on the issues important to them, whether it's the economy, the war in Iraq, or something else. They may not make a decision for a while, and are certainly influenced by the horserace coverage, but eventually they'll pick someone they like and trust.
And then there's folks like this clown.
(Obama)'s already fighting a growing perception that Clinton is sure to win the nomination.
"It's over," said Jeff Phillips, a Massachusetts businessman who came to get Obama to autograph a copy of his memoir "The Audacity of Hope."
Phillips likes Obama, but said he now plans to vote for Clinton because he wants to back a winner.
Still, he wanted his book signed, he said, because he thinks Obama will be president in 2012 if Clinton loses next year to a Republican.
"Hillary has such a well-oiled machine, and I don't think that she's going to make a foolish mistake" before winning the nomination, Phillips said. "It's going to be hard to stop her right now."
Are you @#$%^& kidding me? That's your criteria? "I want to support a winner?" Are you really that much of a friggin weak-minded fool?
By the way, this isn't a Hillary slam. I have great respect for folks who think Hillary is the right candidate, will make a great President, etc.
But I really hate "winnerism". The idea that I'm just going to pick whoever's the "winner". Not most likely to beat the Republicans...just whoever it looks like is going to win. I'd despise people like this even if they supported Obama.
I suppose I'm biased...I've never in my adult life supported a winning candidate in a Democratic Primary. (Sorry, Obama!) But I just can't get my head around the concept of "the only thing I care about is voting for a "winner".
Are people really that lame? Don't answer that. Sigh.
