I have one question...
What do candidates do with their money left over after an election? For example, Ford in TN or Lamont in CT had to have some money left over, do they give it back to someone or donate it to charity or save it for a future bid?
Most important, what in the world are Clinton or Obama going to do with their war chest if only one of them is on the Democratic ticket!? I mean, I know Chicago is an expensive advertising market but I just can't see Obama needing that much. Would he and Edwards save it for future runs, or donate it to Democrats in need!?
Maybe you guys can think of something better than me, but I think Democratic Presidential candidates that don't get the nomination should funnel that money either back to the supporters who gave it to them (what's left of it I suppose) or give it to House and Senate candidates to contribute to an enduring Democratic majority in Congress. Candidates like Noriega in Texas, Rice in Oklahoma, and to the people running in all these districts in IL and elsewhere where Republicans are quitting left and right.
I'm interested to hear your points.
