We aren't a 'zip code'. We aren't 'red or blue'. We aren't 'left or right'. And deep down we aren't 'Democrat, Republican or Independent'. We are the 'American people'. We are 'the voters'. We are the ones who put them in the office they now hold. And we are blocked from reaching them. They have listed us as 'SPAM'.
When they go to Washington, they go to represent all the people of all the states. When they vote it affects the people in every state not just the people in their state. And sometimes their votes affect the world.
Yet they tell you on their web sites, your e-mail will not be responded to (read) unless you have the ‘right zip-code’. Snail mail is held up for weeks for ‘screening’. Faxes go unanswered. Some of them don’t bother to list a fax number. Phone calls are screened by zip-code. Then counted for or against an issue, not listened to for their content.
WE’RE JUST SPITIN' IN THE WIND with our attempts to reach them.
They have allocated funds to build a bridge to nowhere, while a bridge to somewhere collapsed. (Who on the left or right would vote for that?)
They have signed agreements and used our tax money to subsidize sending our jobs overseas. (Who on the left or right would vote for that?)
They have allowed our ports and borders to remain wide open while requiring U. S. Citizens to obtain passports to go anywhere outside our borders. (Who on the right or left would vote for that?)
They were given a mandate to get us out of Iraq in the last election. Instead of getting us out, they funded a surge. (Who on the right or left voted for that?)
They are voting on Iran now. (Who on the right or left voted for that?)
Are we really that divided? Or have we fallen for MSM and Beltway BS? We doubt the MSM on everything else why not this BS? When they convince us we are divided they can do as they please. Are the American people really that divided or is the division between the American people and Washington? These past months, I’ve been mulling that very question along with, "How can we reach them in a way that they can’t ignore?" Once upon a time we could have jammed the post office with sacks and sacks of mail, or jammed the government switchboard with our calls. Remember the old insurance joke that goes something like: anybody can start a fire to get rid of their business but I want to know how Joe started a flood. We need a flood. A flood so big it will sweep through Washington like a tsunami. And like a tsunami it has to be nonpartisan. We need a place where we the people can go and leave a message for any one Senator or Congressperson, or for all of them. A place where anyone and everyone will know what we think, WHAT WE THE PEOPLE WANT DONE.
I’m trying to provide just such a place. A place (votes updated weekly) where a busy person can, with the click of a mouse get the biography, committee assignments, voting record on important votes, and links to more information on any Senator and Congressperson. A place where zip-codes aren’t needed to leave them a message. So my intention is two fold: (1) Provide a service that is informative, quick and easy to use. (2) Start a tsunami of messages that the MSM and Washington can’t easily ignore.
I’m asking that you check it out here. Leave a message or not. Then come back and let me know what you think. I’ll hang around to see what you have to say. Thanks.
