Thanks to Governor Jodi Rell, minor parties can now cross endorse candidates. The CFL Party is proud to announce that our first endorsement is for Chris Dodd of Connecticut.

CFL Endorses Dodd for President
In an effort to bring our two U.S. Senators closer together, the Connecticut for Lieberman Party endorses Senator Chris Dodd for U.S. President in 2008.
Senator Dodd's strong defense of the U.S. Constitution to check runaway presidential power and his efforts to bring the troops home from Iraq long before 2013 make him the best candidate for the Connecticut for Lieberman Party to support.
We are sure that Senator Lieberman agrees that his good friend Chris Dodd is the best person to lead America into the future.
We are sure Senator Lieberman has forgiven Chris Dodd for supporting the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, Ned Lamont in the last election. That is what Democrats do.
We are sure that Senator Lieberman wants to bring the troops home even sooner than Chris Dodd because Lieberman said in the last election, "No one wants to bring the troops home from Iraq more than I do.
Finally we are sure Senator Lieberman supports Senator Dodd's diplomatic and rational approach to Iran rather than calling for a unilateral first strike by the United States.
Given the commonality between Senator Dodd and our party's namesake, we feel that now is the time to announce that the Connecticut for Lieberman Party supports Senator Chris Dodd for president. Joe would not want it any other way.
Dr. John Orman, Elected Chair, Connecticut for Lieberman Party
The Connecticut for Lieberman Party was originally founded by Sen. Lieberman. John Orman of Connecticut discovered that the Senator never joined his own party, so:
On November 15, 2006, Orman became the second voter to change his party registration from "Democratic" to "Connecticut for Lieberman" and submitted "party rules" to the office of the Secretary of the State. Some of the new rules Orman adopted for the Connecticut for Lieberman party included:
- If you run under Connecticut for Lieberman, you must actually join our party.
- The party will nominate people for office who have the last name of Lieberman and/or who are critics and opponents of Senator Lieberman.
- If any CFL candidate loses our party's nomination in a primary, that candidate must bolt our party, form a new party and work to defeat our party's endorsed candidate.
- We in the CFL intend to run the same candidate for three different jobs at the same time, ie. House, Senate and Governor.
On January 3, 2007, Connecticut Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz accepted a filing from Orman. Ted Bromely, a state elections attorney who worked for her office, said "If someone wanted to challenge it, they'd have to go to court."

"We will petition our way to first place - and you can't stop us."
