Voting for the 2007 Weblog Awards is almost over; polls close at 5 PM EST/2 PM PST today.
In the Science category, a climate change denialist holds a narrow lead.
Why is pseudoscience winning a science competition? Because conservative bloggers are sending their readers to the poll to vote for it.
We only have a few hours to strike back. Please for the real science frontrunner (Bad Astronomy) here.
More below the fold.
Why does this matter? Because with every drop of legitimacy that climate change denialism receives, we slip further from the culture-wide consensus that we need in order to address and remedy the damage that human beings are doing to their environment.
We don't want people who confuse politics for science to be able to say they were chosen by popular vote as the "best scientific" anything.
I'm not trying to rig the poll for a friend -- I'm just trying to bring a movement that's afoot in the science blogging community (e.g. see here, here and here) to prevent this climate change denier from having bragging rights.
I've never asked this in a diary before, but: please recommend! The only way this will work is if a lot of people see this. Thanks for your support.
