Wiretapping? Big deal. If you've done nothing wrong, you've got nothing to hide.
At least that's what Bush's remaining supporters tell us.
Funny, I thought Bush's best supporters were gun owners.
And I bet some of them talk about their guns online.
So they ought to be really pissed at that libtard Diane Feinstein, who's working to let telecom companies get away with spying on U.S. gun owners.
The National Rifle Association has for decades fought most gun-registration laws, which in the past, at least, were seen as a method for curtailing crime by aiding in the prosecution of gun crimes.
But organized gun owners generally argued that gun registration was a violation of the 2nd Amendment.
But it would seem that the government has been spying on gun owners throughout both G.W. Bush administrations.
Not just gun owners, of course, but everyone.
And in the course of harvesting every single U.S. communication by phone, email and Internet since before 9/11, hasn't the government no doubt captured:
-- Gun owners' discussions about their weapons?
-- Gun owners' purchase inquiries about weapons and ammo?
-- Gun owners' plans for assembly and shooting events?
I have a brother in law who loves Glenn Beck. He's persuaded that only by following Beck's advice can we avert another terror attack. Of course, Beck hasn't got a clue of what to do to avoid a terror attack, but he sure does hate brown-skinned people who can't prove that they're not a threat to America.
It seems to me that the BIL is the kind of guy who could be persuaded that evil liberals are behind the drive to grant amnesty to phone companies and prevent gun owners from discovering exactly how much information the government has warehoused about gun owners.
Of course, as Glenn Greenwald explains, we know that Feinstein is no libtard:
Feinstein is not merely voting reliably for the most extremist Bush policies, though she is doing that. Far more than that, she has become, time and again, the linchpin of Bush's ability to have his most radical policies approved by the Senate.
But just try to persuade a rightwing gun nut that Feinstein is not a liberal. Hell, she's from San Francisco! So ... spread the word among your right-wing friends: A liberal SF libtard favors spying on U.S. gun owners.
We'll probably need the (justifiably) paranoid right's help to prevent Congress from granting amnesty to phone and Internet companies that illegally wiretapped Americans. Because "liberals" like Feinstein are no help at all.
