I will not take much of your time. So far, I have written only diary and it was about two years back so I have no illusion what the status of this diary would be. Most likely it will vanish after 10 mintues, tops. But what I am feeling right now (with about 5 beers and half a bottle of whiskey in my bloodsream) is important enough for me to open my laptop at this wee-hour and deliver this message to you. I may be completely wrong in what my feelings are telling me right now and I would be the happiest if I am proven wrong.
Now let me tell you what I am feeling right now. Mind you, no thinking because I am in no position to think at this hour. I cannot think not just because of the massive amount of alchohol in my blood but also because I am increasingly at a loss to tell right from the wrong, good from the bad, truth from falsehood, after listening to the commentators on television, to the Senators with Hardvard education, to the Congressman who claims are from the "heartland", will bring "hope and unity" to the "American people". I am at a loss looking at my own shadow in the mirror, trying to find what part of my soul these Senators and the learned commentators are tyring to save. But looking at the blurr, I see there is nothing to save, not as an American and least of all, to be saved by an American. I don't particularly care to be saved just because I am an American, not at the expense of X who can be any, an Iraqi for example (Are you for real?? Is that the Jack Daniels talking?? May be. But I digress!)
I think that as the president Hillary Rodham Clinton would be a disaster, a disaster, a disaster for me. Mind you, I am only speaking for myself and I think she will be a disaster for a liberal like me.I do not think she gives a rat's ass about any ideal, let alone a true liberal ideal (the most tender and therefore most likely to be persecuted by the powers that be and always has been). If elected, she will continue to do the same damn things as they are currently practiced. But the technique will improve markedly, more guarded, more nuanced and backed up by more layers of laws and treaties, carefully worded by the most competent attorneys.
I think she will keep Iraq as a trophy and let most companies currently present do their wholesale looting and destruction of Iraqi people. I think she will bomb Iran to oblivion backed up by Israel. I think she will not change a single damn thing about NAFTA, CAFTA or any other trade pact currently existing. I think she will keep on pushing the boundaries of Amercican Empire as far as it can go, bombing(Daisy Cutters, PGMs), looting(IMF, World Bank, WTO), destroying any shred of national resistance (from a country who is fool hardy enough not to cave-in early!)to pieces.
In short, she is the perfect heir of the current power structure that is operating throughout the Washington, DC.
There are no two parties in Washington currently. There is only ONE party and Clintons and Bushes (and unfortunately Obama as well (sad sad sad for this guy, he did have some promise but all gone to waste, just look at this vote for Mukasey) are representing the same group of people in different capacities.
A lot of people hold their nose and voted for Kerry because they thought he would be electable compared to Dean. And they lost. I always felt, "If one has to lose anyway, one should rather lose with a clear conscience." But the people who wanted to vote for Dean but voted for Kerry instead, didn't get that satisfaction. They lost anyway, but with an extra dose of regret.
I want Hillary Clinton to lose in the primary and everybody like her who represents the power elite to lose, to lose, to lose every election they will ever run. I want them to lose their power over people' lives, permamently. But more importantly I want American people to get out of their dumb fucking sleep and open their eyes and turn off their fucking TVs and read and analyze with eyes open and then, just for an half an hour weep for all the innocent blood they have shed by virtue of their moral passivity (which by the way is the real "American Innocence").
Hillary Rodham aint no leader, for me atleast. She leads (or is lead) a certain group of people in this country whom I have never met, nor am likely to meet though I have felt and will feel their power over my insignificant life as long as I continue to breathe.
