In a new book (THE SECOND CIVIL WAR: How Extreme Partisanship Has Paralyzed Washington and Polarized America. By Ronald Brownstein. The Penguin Press), reviewed by Alan Brinkley the NYT (Nov. 11, 2007), the author argues that "Democratic Internet activists" along with New Right Republicans like DeLay are responsible for the "extreme partisanship" in American politics today. More below:
Not having yet read the book, but only from Brinkley's review, Brownstein's work appears to make some interesting observations about U.S. politics during the past several decades. Brinkley gives it a fair review, and wonders if the current political climate is merely transitory or a more permanent feature of American politics as Brownstein seems to suggest.
Putting Daily Kos in the same category as DeLay style politics is sure to get a response from fellow Kos members, I suspect.
If this has already been written about I'll take it down.
