Yes, Newsweek has drafted Karl Rove as it's poster boy writer to "balance" Markos. How does one react? With glee. I don't think anyone Newsweek regularly will be duped into believing Rove's message is anything but skewed. Sure, he might even write persuasively for the right in the weekly, but readers know from whence he comes.
Markos and this blog, popular as they are, are still unheard of to many readers of traditional media. So hooray, I say, for the new platform of exposure to everyday Americans who may on a lark see a supposedly "fringe left" columnist (though I should hope no such left vs. right nonsense will head the columns) speaking plainly and sensibly.
Can more Americans become better informed this way. Yes. Am I angry and aghast at the Rove "balancing"? Nah. Old news from an old guy rehashing propaganda. I think the public knows Rove, whether they love him or hate him. It's just like a new candidate entering a race. Gotta get the people a chance to know him before they can form an opinion.
Here's to a lot of new opinions forming on Kos. Welcome, traditional media readers!
