Incidents like
this -- if true -- are going to put a crimp in our plans to speed up the training of Iraqis as police and soldiers.
Seriously, friendly fire is an unfortunate but regular occurrence during wartime, and I understand that things are chaotic and our soldiers are jumpy...but we're in a country where we're not universally welcome, we've not demonstrated respect for the culture, and we haven't finished restoring services we bombed out of existence. It would seem to be an incredibly high priority not to kill the citizens who have trusted us enough to train as security forces.
