First, an apology. I'd intended to leave this for later in the day, but we decided to do a day trip today and I didn't want to leave it until tonight. So I'm posting this early and won't be around to give hints.
Since there ARE four puzzles here, some of you may solve some without having the others solved.
Those who figure out the answer, feel free to stick around to give hints to other guessers. The usual rules apply: don't include spoilers (or even hints) in comment subjects, but only in the comments themselves. Instead, offer hints with a subject like "HINT FOR #3" OR "LIKELY SOLUTION FOR #2" and then include the hint or solution inside.
The picture, by the way, is a light drawing I created last night. It's not a Photoshop effect; it's a long (48 second) exposure of me working with a light source. Clicking on the picture brings you to a whole set of thumbnails of light drawings.
The puzzles are below the fold.
- Take the phrase REMAKE RAILROADING THEFT. Rearrange the letters of that phrase to form the names of two well-known artists;
- Take the phrase GREGORIAN JUNGLE HOOP. Rearrange its letters to form a famous group;
- Look at the following:
EVIL LIME
EVER ONCE
CIDER LIE
You have three clues as to the answer. One clue is an anagram. An other is the same structure of consonants and vowels. The third is the same number of letters in each word. The trick is figuring out which is which;
- Same sort of puzzle as #3:
HOC JAM FELIX
MOMENTS I CRY
MAD HOE STRAP
As usual, please don't post spoilers in subject comments. Instead, post subjects such as "SPOILER: #2 solved" and include the answer inside the text. That way, other readers can still work on the puzzles even if you're clearly much smarter and faster than they are.
UPDATE: Puzzle #1 has been solved
