I'm pretty sure it's obvious that I'm a Hillary supporter. I'm not going to turn this into a rah-rah go Hillary post. Instead, it's time to call on Hillary to take action. She needs to cut Mark Penn loose.
I completely agree with Kos on Penn's opponents smelling blood in the water. This is do or die time for Clinton. I don't think that she's doing as horribly as the press would like to cast her, but it's obvious that she's being weighed down. She needs to fire someone. And that someone is Mark Penn.
For months he's brought indirect heat on the campaign. I hate that he's a union-buster. I don't like that he's affiliated with Blackwater. I'm also a little concerned that his firm was involved in Pakistan, although they seemed to be on the better side of two bad choices. It still wasn't right.
I still believe in Hillary. I think she's a good candidate. I know that her Iran vote screwed her over in the primary. I really don't weigh that vote as much as others, especially those of rival campaigns that point to that vote as being much more crucial than it really is. At least she showed up to vote and took a stand.
But other choices really stand out as being kind of stupid. Poll testing celebrity endorsements? Micro targeting people to the point of insanity? The pitch of inevitability?
It's time for him to go. He's not a progressive. I truly believe that Hillary is naturally more liberal than her husband based on her actions before she served as First Lady. But I think the people she's surrounded her with have given her bad advice, and it's time for her to throw off those chains and start anew.
UPDATED: Forgot the kindergarten allegation. Kind of dumb, IMO. H/T tigercourse.
