One thing that makes this election so exciting is just how much is at stake. For the first time ever we have a decent shot at getting some serious healthcare reform, we have a major war we need to get out of, and we've seen the country go in a mindboggling terrible direction, which of course must be corrected. There's so much to talk about, but which one is most important?
I've seen tons of diaries on the war, on healthcare, the Constitution, a few on education and abortion, many on the economy, but none have yet given a hint of the consensus of the community.
So I'd like to ask the DKos community which one they're most concerned with.
Personally, my biggest concern is Dubya's wiping his butt with the Constitution. Executive orders, impeachment off the table, warrantless wiretapping, torture, habeas corpus, all the numerous travesties we've seen really truly frighten me.
I think the Republicans are setting us up for a win, but the next President is going to have an incredibly tough time, and it's likely that he or she (I love that I can say that) will be blamed for it. I truly hope this won't happen, but I suspect we'll win 08 only to lose 12. So, I ask, what is the most important and most immediate wrong that we must and can fix. The answer is of course the restoration of the Constitution. Whoever I believe can do that (and I won't say here lest this turn into a candidate recommending diary) will get my vote.
