My wife has changed her mind thanks to Obama's principles.
If only I could do it as well as Obama has. And seriously, it was more the stupidity of letter writer she was responding to that got her gander.
So here is the letter of my wonderful wife, who will be better known for her writing in the coming years.

Obama stands by principles, earns vote
December 20, 2007
The Dec. 11 letter attacking Barack Obama for not placing his hand over his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance has caused me to change my mind. I was going to vote for John Edwards, but now I'm going to vote for Obama.
Either Obama has a trick elbow or he is acting on, of all amazing things, principle. Only principle could make him take such a chance.
Many, though not all, Protestants object to pledging or making an obeisance to any object, no matter how much they respect the thing it symbolizes. A Protestant at a Catholic wedding who does not genuflect to the crucifix is not "disrespecting" Jesus; he is acting as he thinks proper.
I looked on the Web for a picture of Obama "disrespecting" the flag. I found one. He was not yawning, scratching or giving Old Glory the finger. He was standing quietly with his hands folded in front of him.
The fact that Obama, who has a real chance to become president, can resist kowtowing to shrill majority tyranny is a sign of great character and proper American spirit.
I can't help feeling people who bring up such "issues" are feeling around for a more respectable reason to dislike Obama than their real reason: The color of his skin.
