I apologize for the hit and run diary, but I know many people here have been following the travesty that is Nataline Sarkisyan's death.
It will be of interest to many here to know that the story was second on tonight's 11:00 o'clock news on KCBS-TV in Los Angeles. The lead story was a robbery in Long Beach, and was only around 30 seconds.
The segment on Nataline and her story was considerably longer. Perhaps it would have led the broadcast if not for the incident in Long Beach.
A little more on the flip.
The segment focused on her memorial service. It showed her mother or sister addressing the crowd (I think they said hundreds attended). Her brother was interviewed. The talking head led with how Cigna denied payment for the transplant, only to reverse themselves when it was too late.
Then, the statement from Cigna was put up on the screen. The usual corporate boilerplate bull about how their thoughts were with Nataline's family.
Nataline's funeral will be on Friday.
I don't have much more to add. nyceve and California Nurses Shum are the experts here. I just don't want to see this outrage fall off the radar. Nataline's memory deserves better. Her family deserves better, and every American deserves better.
