Yes, it's finally happening!
After much delay, gnashing of teeth, and a complete lack of coordination on my part, our post-holiday Kossack caucus has finally been set up, thanks mostly to the persistent efforts of kath25 and srkp23, combined of course with early encouragement by our regular intrepid organizer, casperr. Hopefully the deafening silence about the plans and the short notice here aren't too inconvenient, and we can see some folks who aren't ordinarily in town or who haven't been able to make it to our other recent get-togethers. The plan is as follows:
Thursday, Dec. 27, starting at around 6:00pm
Greenwich Treehouse
46 Greenwich Avenue (between Charles and Perry Streets, 6th and 7th Avenues)
New York, NY 10011
212-675-0395
More info below.
Come join us to cap off the year at our eighth and final meetup of 2007, this time at the Greenwich Treehouse, which, despite its name, is neither outside nor up a tree.
Everyone should note that the Treehouse is on Greenwich Avenue, not Greenwich Street (see map).
The closest trains are:
• A, B, C, D, E, F and V at West 4th (exit at the 8th Street end of the station and walk up Greenwich);
• 1, 2 and 3 at 14th Street (exit at 12th Street and walk south one block and turn left on Greenwich);
• 1 at Christopher Street (walk north on 7th Ave to Charles St., turn right, and then make left on Greenwich);
• L at 6th Ave (either walk down 6th to West 10th, turn right and then right again on Greenwich, or walk to 7th Ave head downtown and then left on Greenwich); or
• PATH train to 9th Street (following directions above from West 4th).
Oh, and since every time we don't have these, people mention it, so if anyone could bring nametags (3" by 4" labels), that would be fantastic! And besides, that will make us easy to identify for any non-regular attendees/special guests.
Please note: Before showing up, make sure you're all acquainted with the caucus rules regarding viability of drink selection, as this will be an important factor in determining the evening's "winner" (though as Kossacks, we're already all winners). The media will be in attendance and will be in need of something to tell their audiences.
Hope to see you all there!
