(Disclaimer: I'm pointing this out not because I think it should be news. But to pre-empt the spin that will likely come from all kinds of democrats.)
Last week, Karl Rove offered advice for Republicans on how to beat Hillary. In doing so, he calls her hard to beat.
Now, yesterday, Karl Rove offered similar advice to Barack Obama. A memo entitled, once again, "How to beat Hillary (unofficial sequel)".
What the heck does it mean?
Karl Rove tells the Republicans how to beat Hillary. That means he wants us to believe he knows how to beat Hillary! That means he wants us to pick someone other than Hillary. That means Hillary is the best candidate. But then he called her hard to beat. Maybe he wants us to believe she's hard to beat so we'll nominate her. And then he'll demolish her. Or... maybe he just wants us to think that. Err... uhhh....
Okay, well, the memo to Barack Obama clears everything up. If he's telling Obama how to beat Hillary, it must be because he thinks Obama would be easier to beat, and needs someone to take down Hillary. Therefore, Karl Rove wants us to nominate Obama, because he's a weak candidate! Go Hillary!
... is exactly what Karl Rove WANTS us to say. Which is why we should nominate Obama. Karl Rove is trying to bluff us into thinking that Obama is tainted by his support, when meanwhile he supports Hillary. He fears Obama's candidacy. So let's nominate Barack Obama... but maybe he's trying to knock down Obama. Look at how he says that Obama looks weak, ineffective, vague. He's trying to knock both of them down.
Which is why Karl Rove is working for Bill Richardson.

Note: this post is not meant to be taken seriously. Instead, it's supposed to pre-empt anyone who is going to try to spin the Rove memo into some bullshit.
Let's be honest. Rove isn't that smart, just a-moral. He's willing to do anything to win. He's smart, but not a genius. He made the 2006 election a disaster because of his short-sighted 2004 and 2000 strategies of chasing 50.1%. And even then, George W Bush won the presidency because Rove was willing to tell big lies, and commit voter fraud. I'm unwilling to do that, not because I'm dumb, but because I just don't think that's what Democracy is about.
This isn't part of some secret brilliant Karl Rove plan plan. This is just an effort to keep himself relevant, so we second guess who we should vote for instead of voting with our own logic and conscience.
The real answer is to ignore Rove. Because when you're listening for a hidden message from Karl Rove, you're still listening to Karl Rove.
