It seems mikemcnary was on to something ten days ago! It may not be incredibly surprising, but it's still quite newsworthy.
Ralph Nader unleashed on Hillary Rodham Clinton Monday - criticizing her for being soft on defense spending and a chum of big business - and expressed his strong support for John Edwards.

Further down the same article notes (emphasis mine):
Nader said he has watched Edwards from afar and sees his more pugilistic brand of populism as a "glimmer of hope."
"It's the only time I've heard a Democrat talk that way in a long time," Nader said, acknowledging what was, for him, a rare moment of praise for a Democratic leader.
"Iowa should decide which candidate stands for us," he added. "Edwards is at least highlighting day after day that the issue is who controls our country, big business or the people."
I am curious about what effect this may have and hesitant to put too much weight on it. Nader is a somewhat divisive figure -- for various reasons -- but I can't help but think that this endorsement will serve to further enhance Edwards' momentum going into the final days before the Iowa caucus, especially among those who consider themselves liberal progressives and are yet undecided.
As I implied earlier, I am hesitant to get too excited about this endorsement, but it really seems like things are shaping up very well for John Edwards. Coupled with the new InsiderAdvantage poll (detailed by jamess here) that predicts a 7% Edwards victory on Thursday, this gives me hope that he indeed has a very real chance at this nomination, whether our corporate overlords like it or not.
