I decided to give GoogleAds a try to get some traffic to my site. I made a simple ad that looks like this:
Political Views
Strong opinions and witty rants
that are short and to the point.
argville.com
I got an email from Google saying my ad was disapproved because the content of the ad was unacceptable.
Their email said: Due to the sensitive nature of this matter, we are not able to run this ad at this time. As noted in our advertising terms and conditions, we reserve the right to exercise editorial discretion when it comes to the advertising we accept on our site.
I read their terms of agreement and can’t for the life of me understand what about that ad is unacceptable. Heck, if they had said it was false advertisement because the opinions are neither strong nor witty I could understand. :) It can’t be because of the keywords I chose because I used their tool to select from keywords they recommend.
The weird thing is that I have another ad that’s basically the same but with the title "Liberal Views", and that one they didn’t pick on.
I’m hoping this is some sort of mistake and not some overly cautious politically correct crap.
I sent them an email, but who knows if I will get an answer.
I wonder if anyone else here had a similar experience.
[UPDATE: I got a reply from Google. They claim it was a mistake. The ad has been approved. OK, this makes more sense.]
