So as I was enjoying this fine President's Day by doing all my Spring Cleaning (since it is so unusually warm today in San Francisco) for some reason I got to thinking about the debacle in Iraq, Joe Lieberman's "War on Terror" Tax, and the idea of defunding the president's failures in the Middle East.
Then I thought of something, which may or may not work but would at least put some issues on the table that need to be heard. That is, what if instead of cutting off all funding for said war in Iraq, why not instead tie the funding to the repeal of the Bush tax cuts that spared the wealthy any pain?
I mean, it's not like the Hilton sisters, or Nicole Ritchie, or ANY of the Bush children are going to actually fight in any wars now or in the future. Nor is it likely most wealthy children who get lavish parties such as those seen on MTV's "My Super Sweet 16" will either. So rather than belabor the point, why not instead just repeal their mummsy and daddy's tax cuts to pay for the war?
Think about it. All those GOP senators and congressmen would be painted into a corner, and it would bring up issues beyong "paying for the war." What do you guys all think?
