"Democrats.com, another website, even offered $1,000 (about £550) to any journalist who quizzed Bush about the memo's contents, although the Reuters reporter who asked the question last Tuesday was not aware of the reward and has no intention of claiming it."
This is, in my opinion, absolutely brilliant.
We're all tired of the media not asking tough questions. We all know they won't do it because the money is too good to not do it. Why not change that? I know nothing about setting up such organizations, but I propose we set up a regular fund, a Pay to Ask Fund.
We build up a list of questions the media is not asking and solicit funds through donations. Every time a journalist is the first one to ask one of those questions, we award the journalist a cash prize. If the story makes it to the top headlines, it gets a bigger cash prize.
I'm sure someone here knows enough about this sort of thing to help me make this real.
As they say, money talks. Let's get them talking!
