Dear All,
I've not written a diary since my sister (Betti) was so sick and ultimately passed away September 22, 2006, I still find it difficult to get involved in life.
So much is happening in this Community called 'DailyKos', I've read amazing diaries in the past six or seven months, feel I've gained new friends and shed so many tears over the pain and suffering some of us have had to face...but then I tell myself that I am a strong and healthy woman, that the POWER OF ONE is TRUE POWER and my sister would WANT me to get back into life, preferably DIVE back into it.
Well, Betti, I don't think I'm diving into it, but I'm going to get back involved in that which I believe in and I WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Follow me please...
VIGILS are being held throughout the country on Monday, March 19th. I challenge EVERYONE in this community that lives in the UNITED STATES to find a vigil and attend. There are over 1100 available.
Go to: http://pol.moveon.org/...
My Vigil is here: http://pol.moveon.org/...
We NEED press on these in a big way. If anyone is in the San Diego area and have media contacts, please send them my way. If you find a vigil in your area and have media contacts, offer the host your assistance!
We NEED ATTENDENCE, real people, coming out and being there. My grandiose illusion is to have over 500 people on the beach in Oceanside...
We NEED these anti-war diaries (and vigil) to be recommended and passed around so they are read far and wide and add to our attendance!
The POWER OF ONE...
I found out about this when I went to Louisiana...
I continue to realize how true this is DAILY...
Putting together my vigil has been a challenge, I'd rather stay away from people...but this is so very, very IMPORTANT to me. We MUST take AMERICA back, we MUST take better care of our VETERANS...we MUST make those in GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE.
It is beyond our time to take to the streets...
There are several people here who are part of DailyKos that do so much for bringing attention to the Veterans and Soldiers and Marines...I am humbled by them.
Ilona comes to mind with her tiredless work on PTSD, something close to my heart at this moment in my life...
TestVet who has made me cry with his diaries...
There are others, but this diary writing is exhausting me. My mind gets scattered alot lately.
This diary seems to be nothing much more then 'cheerleading'...but perhaps it will help someone to step up and find their OWN POWER OF ONE.
In Peace...
Barbara, Tirawa and Winston
A special "thank you" to everyone at ePluribus who have encouraged me through the last many months and for providing us with such great media...
UPDATE: I just received an email from Will McRae who is the Regional Coordinator from MoveOn for San Diego County...I had sent him an email with the link to this diary...
He wrote to me saying that he was monitoring the vigils and noticed that suddenly there were jumps in those signing up...then he received my email and the link....he attributes THIS diary to that! WAHOO...the POWER OF ONE!
CONTINUE TO PASS THE WORD FOLKS:)
