For those of you who don't know
Melanie Morgan, she's the wonderful woman who got smacked by Spocko, Mike Stark, and a few of our other favorites. She had ads pulled, ABC supposedly apologizing, and people running for cover.
But just when you think they are in the ground:
The Marin Republican Party requests the pleasure of your company at our annual Lincoln Day Dinner
Special Guest Speaker: California State Senator Tom McClintock
Also being honored will be KSFO talk show host Melanie Morgan
As Marin conservative of the year.
Now, we mostly know that Morgan has no shame, so going after her is a waste. The Marin County GOP, in fairness, doesn't have a lot to choose from. I'm pretty sure that it was her or
Michael Savage But Mr. Tom McClintock has a bit to lose here.
Who is Tom McClintock? He's the rep in CA's SD-19, which covers NW LA and a lot of Santa Barbera County. On his site he's got the links to the
Heritage Foundation and the CATO Institute, While the money combined with low density in the area keeps it fairly Republican, there is a lot of social liberalism in this area. Supporting someone who hangs out with people like Melanie Morgan isn't their style. Let's ask some their local papers about which statements of hers he supports.
Is this what he likes about her?
On the November 14 broadcast of San Francisco radio station KSFO's Lee Rodgers & Melanie Morgan Program, Morgan said, "We've got a bull's-eye painted on her big, wide laughing eyes," referring to House Speaker-elect Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), as noted by blogger Spocko. On the November 20 broadcast of the show, Morgan again asserted that "it's time to put the bull's-eye" on Pelosi.
How about this?
Morgan suggested that someone "dig ... up" late environmentalist Rachel Carson "and kill her all over again."
Maybe McClintock just supports Morgan calling Barack Obama "Halfrican".
On the December 4 broadcast of KSFO's Sussman, Morgan & Vic, Morgan referred to Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) as an, "as you call, 'Halfrican.' "Sussman responded, "Halfrican ... his father was from Kenya, his mother's white." He added that, "in my opinion -- 'cause my opinion is your average white guy," Obama "is not allowed to wear the African-American badge because his family are not the descendants of slaves, OK? He can't identify with the discrimination and the slavery and all of that that's gone into these black families for generations."
This dinner is tommorrow night. Let's make it a good one.
