Today, Sen. Chuck Hagel is quoted as saying the following:
.....Gonzales "does have a credibility problem. ...We govern with one currency, and that's trust. And that trust is all important. And when you lose or debase that currency, then you can't govern. And I think he's going to have some difficulties."
Ok. Fine. Now, let's talk about the "credibility problem" and lack of "currency" of the Bush regime as a whole, particularly over the Iraq War.
Oh, and then there's the little matters of Katrina, Walter Reed, Abu Ghraib, Abramoff, Enron, and on, and on, and on, ad nauseam.
Fact is, the Congress, and the people of this nation, have been lied to time and time again, throughout the entire Bush tenure. What about their cred eh?
More after the fold .... grab your coffee, and follow me there (if you dare)....
Anyone who thinks Hagel is somehow different or "special", is sorely mis-informed. In addition to his throughly conservative voting record, he has, and continues to support the Bush junta on everything but their prosecution of the war.
This morning, regarding "Prosecutorgate", Hagel went on to say:
"I don't know if he (Abu Goonzales) got bad advice or if he was not involved in the day-to-day management. I don't know what the problem is, but he's got a problem. You cannot have the nation's chief law enforcement officer with a cloud hanging over his credibility," Hagel said.
Thanks for providing Abu with some cover Chuck, I am sure he appreciated it....
But more importantly, how about having a president with gaping, huge, Jupiter-sized clouds over "his credibility" Chuck? How about that huh? Oh, don't care to say anything about Bush's credibility huh? Typical freakin' Gooper weasel, that's Chuck Hagel.
Fellow GOP weasel, Sen. Arlen Specter jumped on the same "credibility" bandwagon, with this comment:
"We have to have an attorney general who is candid and truthful. And if we find out he's not been candid and truthful, that's a very compelling reason for him not to stay on,"

Well jeebus Arlen! What about Richard Bruce Cheney, and Condosleeza Rice, (and, and, and, and) and the lies they told during the run-up to the illegal Iraq invasion and attack? Huh? Silence? Do I hear silence? why do they get to keep their jobs?
This is called "selective application of rationale", or more succinctly, H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-C-Y. Fucking hypocrites, all of them, and many Dems too. Former Democrat Joe LIEberman being perhaps the biggest horses-ass hypocrite in the entire Senate.
For six years, the Republican-run Congress aided and abetted this criminal regime in its lies. Only with the emergence and ascendancy of a Democratic congress, have we seen any attempt at oversight. Well hallelujah!
And while we can celebrate these beginnings of "accountability", it's waaaaaaaaaaaay past time to prosecute the Bush regime for their lack of credibility (natch, lies, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, etc.).
What's say we get busy and go after the "big fish".
The "fish" who are leading this nation into destruction of its most cherished institutions.
The "fish" who lied this nation into a war that has killed hundreds of thousands, and cost our treasury a trillion.
The "fish" who have betrayed and undermined this nation as no group of terrorists could have.
How about bringing them to justice, and then applying the same standards you profess to hold and want to use against Gonzales? Huh? Come on now, speak up you freakin' weasels!
"What we have here, is a failure to communicate......"
