I'll tell you what is "breaking" ... my fucking heart. So while journalist rush to Broward County to cover this ridiculous story, let me help them out by letting you know what else is going on in the world:
Iraq:
5 U.S. Soldiers Die in Iraq Bomb Blasts...
Roadside bombs killed five U.S. soldiers in Iraq on Sunday, including four in a single strike in a volatile province northeast of the capital, the military said.
In Baghdad, gunmen on rooftops opened fire on Iraqi soldiers, prompting fierce fighting in the narrow streets and alleys of one of the capital's oldest neighborhoods, a Sunni insurgent stronghold and a haven for criminals on the east side of the Tigris River. At least two civilians were killed and four others were wounded in the clashes, police said, as U.S. attack helicopters buzzed overhead.
Four U.S. soldiers were killed and two others were wounded, according to a statement, when an explosion struck their patrol in Diyala province, a religiously mixed area that has seen fierce fighting in recent months.
A roadside bomb also killed a soldier and wounded two others as they were checking for bombs on a road in northwestern Baghdad, the military said.
Iran:
Iran warns U.S. against any attack...
TEHRAN, Iran - A senior Iranian military official warned the United States against launching any attack on the Islamic Republic, a news agency reported Monday, two days after the United Nations imposed new sanctions on Iran.
"If America starts a war against Iran, it won’t be the one who finishes it," Morteza Saffari, naval forces commander of the elite Revolutionary Guards, was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency.
The U.S. Judicial System:
Gonzales feels heat from GOP senators...
Three Republican senators joined Democrats on Sunday in saying that the credibility of Atty. Gen. Alberto R. Gonzales had been badly undercut by his confused and seemingly contradictory statements on the firing of eight U.S. attorneys last year.
"He has said some things that just don't add up," Senate Judiciary Committee member Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "The attorney general has been wounded. He's going to have to come to the Senate to reestablish his credibility."
Gonzales is to testify before the committee April 17 — an appearance that Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, the panel's top Republican, called a "make-or-break situation for him."
Darfur:
UN aid chief warns of 'humanitarian collapse' in Darfur...
After initially barred by Sudan's military from a camp for displaced people in northern Darfur, the UN's new humanitarian chief warned a "humanitarian collapse," endangering tens of thousands of refugees, could be sparked by even a single major security incident. Government roadblocks isolate area refugees and limit the access of aid agencies as medical, food and water supplies struggle to get through. A multitude of rebel groups as well as government-backed militias contribute to the insecurity of more than 2.5 million displaced across Darfur.
