I don't want to add to your woes here but AccWeather published on its website its predictions for the 2007 hurricane season.
It's a whopper, too.
AccuWeather's Joe Bastardi and Ken Reeves published preliminary predictions for the upcoming 2007 hurricane season.
Both meteorologists say the 2006 hurricane season "Was Just a Breather".
The 2007 hurricanes will be more intense and focus more on the Gulf of Mexico states. States still recovering from the disasters of 2005 hurricanes like Katrina.
Bastardi says:
"We will not get anywhere near the amount of storms that we did in 2005, but it is the intensity of the storms we do get that will be of major concern."
He also warned that:
"We’ll see storms on the prowl in the Gulf again. The entire region—including New Orleans and other areas that are still rebuilding after Katrina—is susceptible to landfalling storms."
Of course that means that the oil rigs drilling for oil and natural gas in the Gulf of Mexico will have to stop producing.
(You didn't think I put this in here as a weather report. It has grave economic bearings on all of us.)
With the Bush Administration trying to put a floor under a barrel of oil by destabilizing the Middle East, the price of gasoline, heating oil, etc will likely skyrocket thru the roof soon. Add a damaging hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico and it's a recipe for economic disaster of epic proportions.
Greg Palast talks about the Middle East conflicts promoted by the Bush Administration here:

Here's part of the very scary last paragraph of the AccuWeather 2007 Hurricane predictions:
"We are living in a time of climatic hardship," said Bastardi. "We’re in a cycle where weather extremes are more the norm and not the exception. One of the ways this manifests itself is in the intensity of hurricanes and tropical storms."
See folks here's the reality. While the Bushites are playing World War 3 games in the Middle East over oil, Global Warming warnings are being ignored. But Bastardi's comments about the warm Atlantic currents churning up strong hurricanes were first made by Al Gore in "An Inconvenient Truth".
The 2nd "Inconvenient Truth" in this story is the very warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico in recent summmers. When Katrina hit New Orleans the water temperature of the Gulf of Mexico near Louisiana was 86 F. degrees. A sort of record high temperature. The water temperature helped make Katrina a whopper of a storm by most measures.
There is every reason to believe that the Gulf of Mexico temperatures will be just as high as they were during Katrina and possibly higher. Generating monster Category 4 & 5 intensity storms.
Big oil and the Bush Administration can deny the links between Gobal Warming, dramatic climate changes and the use of fossil oils all they want. But both the climatological and economic links are undeniable!
