In 2000, we watched as enough voters bought the good-ole'-boy crap and turned their back on prosperity, peace and intelligence. Sure, our idiot president was there when 9/11 struck but this administration used propaganda like nothing I have witnesses in 40 years. So in 2004, they used the hot buttons of fear, hatred and religious bigotry to squeek out another victory. I really think the rest of the world expected us to come to our senses in 2004.
Here we are in 2007, and boy-George has a 30% approval rating. Scandals are all around and piling higher daily. Torture, loss of civil liberties, and the politicalization of every agency in government has important positions filled by hacks which results in debacles in places like Iraq and New Orlgeans. You get the picture. We know there will be more.
I just have to know. Who are these people that still support this embarassing and failed president? Is there a way to identify them? Wouldn't they go along with wearing a ribbon or something? They must be blindly loyal so I can't imagine they would object to showing their support for this president and all he has done--- willingly.
I propose a system where they would wear one ribbon if they voted for the imbecile once and two if they gave him a second term. Those that voted for him in 2000, but leanred from their mistake, might win some respect since they were able to see through the "compassionate conservative" propaganda and the "war on terror" propaganda.
Then we are left with a unique group of people. The 30% who still support Bush. We would award them a special and highly visible designation. The irrationality of that support is clear. We need to study, poke and prod this group for whatever pyschological insights that can be gained from researching the cognitive dissonance created from watching the reality that Bush has created and still being able to answer a pollster that you support him and his policies. I think there are other very valuable lessons to be learned from this 30%. But I turn that over to the experts. In the meantime, if we could encourage them to publicly identify themselves I would feel safer.
How many of the blindly loyal would be willing to identify themselves and answer a few psychological surveys? This opportunity to target such a rare group of humans, should not be missed.
