I have been extremely perplexed by the timing and substance of the British-sailors-taken-hostage development. I have been scratching my head, wondering why on earth Iran would conceivably do this at this particular moment.
Then, on a CNN interview yesterday Senator Diane Feinstein said this:
Another guest, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), criticizes hints of military force during a time of sensitive diplomatic negations for the safe return of 15 British sailors that have been detained by Iran. "Cooler heads have to prevail," she says.
Interesting, no? Now let's also not forget that we have 2 carrier groups that just arrived in the Gulf, and wide reports from numerous sources that Good Friday weekend was supposed to be "it" - the date of the attack.
Doesn't it seem like this hostage-taking effort might be a way for Iran to forestall the Bush attack? The warmongers believe that they only have a few months' "weather window" in the spring to do the deed. But if Britain and Iran are negotiating over hostages....
Diary Police Note: This is a short, lame-ass diary, but I want to get this concept aired out to see what people think. No, I will not delete this but I promise not to do another one like it.
