By care, I mean what do you actually care enough about to do something? You participate regularly. You're an activist. You call, write, lobby, harrangue someone (diaries don't count). You donate your time, not just money. You do the heavy lifting, and bitch about those who pay lip service but never show up. You get up off the couch, turn off the Scrubs reruns (God help me, but I love that show), and get out there. You have a passion.
I'll admit, my activity the past two years has been minimal (nonexistent). I tried to volunteer full-time for a candidate - really tried, but they never returned my calls or emails(!). I rationalize my sloth with spending the prior 8 years leading a fight with local, state, and national agencies and officials about toxic waste that threatened my neighborhood. Some weeks I spent more time on that than my job. But it's time to get off my ass and do something else, and soon.
Make it quick. One line. And just your number one priority, based on what you do (skip the Miss America answers). Own up if you're a slacker, like me.
I'm just curious what's on your mind that you're willing to do something. Maybe I'll find new motivation.
