While other candidates seem to talk away, like running water, without ever saying anything,
Mike Gravel is a guy who gets to the core right from the get-go.
A former U.S. Senator of some distinction, Mike Gravel made a real difference during the Vietnam-era by standing up and fillibustering Richard Nixon's War legislation repeatedly (over and over again) over the course of 6 whole months.
The result of that action was that Nixon grudgingly agreed to end the Draft (a tyranny forced upon American citizens). Thousands of lives were saved and the Vietnam War had nowhere to go but eventually extinguish itself to its long deserved termination.
In a word, leadership.
Nowadays, we can't even get any of our Senators to oppose or investigate the most heinous events such as an Election stolen right in the light of day, or stand up and Impeach plainly obvious
War-Profiteers and genocidal liars from their offices that they are abusing (aside from Dennis Kucinich), or use the fillibuster at all (even though it is used routinely by Republicans against them) thus assuring the appointment of Samuel Alito (another Antonin Scalia type) to the highest Court.
Mike Gravel was a stand-up guy before and it sure looks like he hasn't changed with age.
Let the debate go forward.
