We became quite familiar with areas around the world that have already undergone drastic changes. We have seen the pictures of Rivers drying up, ice caps shrinking, perma frost disappearing, extreme draught and floods.
It has become clear that we need to act soon before we reach the point of no return.
Over the past several days, reports have come out that the Arctic Ice is melting 3 times faster because of warmer tempatures than previously used in models.
"Arctic sea ice melting three times faster than projected"

That puts us at an early date of an ice free Arctic at the year 2020. Which also unfortunately means, life as we know it, gone.
Today those tipping points are being reported in other parts of the world.
"Melting glaciers at Mt Cook pose dangers

SHRINKING: the Tasman Glacier is melting as a lake forms at its base. The rock exposed by the retreating ice is dangerous, mountain guides say.
Global warming is being blamed for a spectacular retreat of glaciers around Mount Cook.
Mountain guide Gottlieb Braun-Elwert said he had stopped guiding some routes in Aoraki-Mount Cook National Park because of the increasing risk of rockfall caused by the dramatic warming.
He predicted melting of the permafrost holding a Mount Cook sub-peak, Anzac Peaks, could cause a massive landslide.
Glaciologist Trevor Chinn said the rapid retreat of the main glaciers flowing off Mount Cook was irreversible, with human-caused climate change accelerating the pre-existing warming trend that had been under way for over a century.
He said the lakes that had formed at the bases of the Tasman, Hooker and Mueller glaciers were at a "climatic tipping point" that could not be reversed, even if temperatures suddenly reversed the warming trend."

I don't know if people are taking this problem serious enough. If our elected officials don't act upon the news, I guess the people won't know to take it serious either. And for the rest of us who know better, who do we rely on for taking action to stop the Climate Crisis?
