War is hell, and I got a double dose of it. When the two lovely daughters of Captain Funkhouser grow up and have all the facts of this illegal Bush-War, they may have a big question mark of why their father dies. Captain Funkhouser's story is described in Katie Couric special of Kimberly Dozier. The other powerful story is CBS 60 minutes about Iowa guardsmen sent out to Iraq. A wife cheerfully sending her hubby and son to Iraq, but she rounds up fighting depression later.
We all understand the carnage caused by war, but we also should do a realty check of the carnage that are doing to the homefront by this Bush-War.
You want reality shows, here they are.
Sarah Nisley wanted her dad to give her away. So she moved up her wedding date. "I figured it's not a wedding if my dad can’t walk me down the aisle," she says.
Scott Nisley, a postman, took her to the altar two weeks before they deployed.
For some reasons Sarah had the sixth sense, she had the last dance with her dad. Scott Nisely was killed in action in Iraq Sept, 2006.
Mike Ites' wife Brenda is a registered nurse. Asked how she feels about her husband and her oldest son going together to war, she says, "I think it’s great."
Why?
"Because they can be there and support each other, Scott," she explains. "And, because they’re both Christians, they can pray together and encourage one another, be together during the holidays."
Ten months later, she is fighting for depression, from the interview she looks like she is scare and fighting to keep her feeling in check, you just hear-broke to feel for her anguish.
And here is the the carnage do to the Funkhouser's family;
The 35-year-old soldier died along with two CBS News journalists in the middle of a square in Baghdad.
And once again, a mother had to tell her children their father wasn't coming home. Jennifer Funkhouser says, "Allison is only 2 and I sat her down and I told her, 'Daddy died,' and she doesn't understand."
I wonder years from now when the next generation of these thousands fallen brave soldiers grow up, what would they think? Hopefully at that time we have all the facts written down into the history book regarding this Bush-War, As up now all facts points to this is that this is a illegal-ill-conceived-unnecessary invasion that has a horrendous impact on the country and the country's reputation internationally.
