This morning in San Francisco, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. gave the keynote address of the 2007 Eco Live Conferece. In what was supposed to be a speech on the environment, he went over a range of issues ranging from the original topic to the war, to campaign finance reform. As the speech went on, it ouccured to me that not only does this guy have a lot on his mind, but that he is chomping at thebit do be in a position that allows him to do more. So when the speech ended, I asked him a question.
There is a rumor going around on the internet that, should Hillary be elected president, you would considerrunning for the vacant Senate seat. Can you confirm this?.
He answered that should the seat be open,he will probalby run should the seat be open. If not, he will be happy tocontinue what he is doing. He also confirmed this diary reporting that U.S. Attorney Timothy Griffin engaged in illegal election activity.
Folks, evsenen if this guy was not a Kennedy, I would be all about him in the U.S. He gets it. He is a strong progressive who knows how to speak to values and can talk about the value of our ecosystem in a religous contex than anyone can appreciate when they hear it.
I gotta tell you, the idea of him in the Senate makes supporting Hillary VERY tempting. At minimum, I would love to see him run the EPA or the Interior under President Edwards or Obama.
