Lady Bird Johnson is the nicest woman ever to have graced Texas. Those who knew LBJ know what she went through, but she carried on with the grace of a queen. From being there for the great Sam Rayburn during his bouts of loneliness, to being the voice of reason to the Bullshit Bull that was Lyndon, she will always be the Autumn Queen of Texas.
She's now in the hospital, back in Austin, Texas.

AUSTIN, Texas: Former first lady Lady Bird Johnson remained in a hospital Tuesday undergoing medical tests for a fifth day, a family spokeswoman said.
The 94-year-old widow of President Lyndon B. Johnson was admitted to Seton Medical Center last week and treated for a low-grade fever, which was reported to have subsided by Monday.
The former first lady previously suffered a stroke that left her with difficulty speaking. She mostly communicates through facial expressions and other means, friends and relatives say.
Since her hospitalization, Johnson's admirers have been asking about her and sending e-mails to the Lyndon B. Johnson Library and Museum in Austin, said the library's spokeswoman, Anne Wheeler.
From the daughter of a sand farmer in the Brazos Valley to First Lady of the Free World, she never changed, she was always smiles and comfort, a quiet dignity that is the mark of a Texas Lady.
Get well Lady Bird, I am sure Sam, Ann and Molly are smiling from across the Jordon hoping you take your time. Heck, LBJ might even be there, too. But this time, he should have to wait on you. And make him wait, you should.
Should send her a note, to let her know Texas, and the country, have not forgotten her.
