Ok, so of all the pathetic statements one can possibly make about the war in Iraq, saying that "It is the Iraqis who have failed" really tops it off.
That's effectively what Senator Clinton said in last night's debate:
Our troops did the job they were asked to do. They got rid of Saddam Hussein. They conducted the search for weapons of mass destruction. They gave the Iraqi people a chance for elections and to have a government. It is the Iraqis who have failed to take advantage of that opportunity.
So let me get this straight. We invade their country under false pretenses, overthrow their government, and hundreds of thousands of their people die in the process.....and it's their fault? Show me one country in the world that has held genuinely democratic elections during a state of civil war and under foreign military occupation.
Hillary's statement makes her look like a hypocrit, but not surprising if one takes into account her neocon tendencies throughout the past. To add to that, out of sheer hubris and false pride she refuses to apologize for her IWR vote (unlike Edwards who apologized months ago).
Seriously, I can't even believe that any self-respecting liberal, let alone Democrat, wants her to be our nominee.
