As we know, the Barack Obama campaign has raised approximately 32.5 million dollars for the second quarter (31 million can be used for the primary process), which is the new fundraising record for Democrats in any single quarter for a presidential election cycle. (As a side note, George W. Bush holds the single fundraising quarter with an astonishing 35.1 million dollars back in June 2003 that dates between April and June).
Also, the Hillary Clinton campaign raised about 27million dollars, while the John Edwards campaign surpassed their fundraising goal of raising at least 9 million dollars, and Bill Richardson’s campaign came in with a solid 7 million dollars. In the short run, this means all the front-runners will be able to compete and remain heavily competitive in the early caucus/primary states. Additionally, the candidates will have sufficient funds to contact voters, hold public events, and pay for political advertising/media.
However, the most important things to draw from these fundraising figures by the candidates is how the individuals respective campaigns along with the main-stream media will publicly spin the political donations.
The Questions to Ask

2.How will the Obama campaign perceive the record number of donors and donations made to their campaign?
3.How does this play out in Iowa and how this ultimately impacts the John Edwards campaign in the Iowa Caucus?
4.With Bill Richardson only raising 7 million dollars...is he officially a Vice Presidential Candidate?
