Has anyone seen this? Does this mean I'm a criminal?
Bush Outlaws All War Protest In United States
It has been floating around the internet for the past few days that Bush has outlawed any War protesting through an executive order he signed Tuesday, July 17, 2007.
At first I thought it was a hoax, so I checked snopes. Nope. Nothing there. So then I googled it and found this link to the White House web site.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/...
Now I've read this several times and must admit it looks very ominous indeed.
There are those who would call me paranoid, but they would be the ones that underestimate our administration.
So my question is....if I write or march or advocate the downfall of those who continue to support Bush's invasion, does that make me a criminal now under this new order?
And the part I find the most curious is the part that allows the Secretary of Treasury (currently Alberto Gonzales) in conjunction with the Secretary of State (Condi Rice) and Secretary of Defense (Gates) to make the determination about who is a good guy or bad guy.
No courts. No Congress. Just Bush and his cronies say so!
Isn't this undermining the rule of law? Isn't that what the GOP riled about against Clinton? This is getting to be serious stuff. Even Congress can't act because Bush has directed them not pursue Congressional indictments for ignoring the Congressional subpeonas.
It looks to me like the coup is complete and all they need to do now is round up those darn instigators and agitators! Again, I ask, Do I need to be worried about a knock on my door?
