Since we are talking about President Bush and Vice President Cheney who have: manipulated and totally distorted intelligence information to justify their War and thus perjured themselves before Congress and the American people, violated Federal Immigration Laws, committed war crimes under the rules set-forth by the Geneva Convention, perpetrated genocide upon the Iraqi citizenry, ordered illegal surveillance of American citizens and thus violated the Constitution, obstructed justice by refusing to comply with Congressional subpoenas and by directing the Justice Department to engage in illegal and covert political sabotage, and placed this nation in grave danger of increased terrorism through their immoral and hedonistic foreign policy.
Granted impeachment is an excellent beginning but doesn’t this Administration deserve more? If we impeach but do not prosecute President Bush and Vice President Cheney, how does that restore the faith of the citizenry in our system of unilateral justice? How does that ensure future compliance with the Constitution by succeeding administrations and our government? We shouldn’t be debating impeachment, we should be debating prosecution.
