The Associated Press ran a story back on May 19, 2007. The story was about how George W. Bush was appearing at a fund raiser for the Virginia GOP. I wrote a diary about it at the time in which I said:
The press ( as usual ) was not allowed to attend the event but the AP was able to tell us that this shindig was hosted by Rick and Sherry Sharp. Rick Sharp is the CEO of CarMax.com and "Crocs Inc., the maker of the popular rubber shoes."
I lamented that I was considering a pair of Crocs for the beach this summer.
Meh! Just barely went over the limit to keep it all in the intro, not much more after the jump.
Well I followed through on my personal Boycott of Rick Sharp's products and do not own a pair of Crocs nor did I use CarMax.com to look for my new ( used ) car. I'm the proud new owner of a 2001 PT Cruiser which I will be using as a station car when I start my new job in downtown Manhattan.
Getting back to Crocs .. So this morning, I was perusing the online news when I saw that a Hospital in Pittsburgh has banned Crocs from it's workplace. I am unfamiliar with Eastern philosophies but I believe one word fits here:
Karma!
