Update about my wife's diagnosis, and the fight we all need to make.
Well, a lot has happened to us in the few months since my first diary. My wife underwent a double mastectomy. She was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, and she is now halfway through her chemotherapy. She is bald and tired, but she is determined and optimistic.
Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts during a scary and uncertain time. We are now in the thick of our fight, knowing now who our opponent is, and knowing our own strengths and disadvantages in this struggle.
I would ask anyone reading this to fight the good fight. Battle for universal health care, well-funded public education, infrastructure, etc. Support and vote for those candidates that represent the traditional liberal values that made this country great. If we can defeat these corporate fascists, who would install a permanent two class society, then we can begin to find the cure to cancer and other horrible afflictions that millions of Americans deal with every day. How many of us will die from terrorism, and how many of us will deal with cancer, heart disease, Parkinson's, MS, etc?
The only good thing I can say about what my wife is going through, is that it has made lesser fights seem easier to tackle. After cancer, we won't be afraid of anyone or anything.
Thanks again for all of the good thoughts and prayers.
