BTW, while I lost nothing in the storm beyond my cold foods, I felt survivor's guilt and still do. And while I appreciate that Spike Lee made what seems to be a limited documentary on the flood (the 9th Ward was hardly the nexus of the problem), I have yet to watch it.
I can't.
Remember: I lost nothing. But then I can't watch a documentary on Katrina. If you want to understand the wound every denizen here carries, look to that. It is grievous and long-lasting. And so many thousands suffered so much more than I did. Imagine what they must be feeling on August 29.
