Today in Orlando we got off to a late start. Our usual location in front of the city hall was fenced in, the whole block was fenced. Parking was a nightmare, I drove for fifteen minutes before I found a space two blocks away. I walked as near as possible and decided the median would do for today.
Traffic was diverted from the usual route, one block of Orange Ave was closed to prepare for the Pat Benatar concert tonight. We got to hear the band warming up a little. I must be getting old, it was loud.
There were six of us today with signs. There was more pedestrian traffic than normal. The people who stopped to photograph us seemed supportive, not as many honkers as usual. Only got flipped off once, that I saw. Very few thumbs down, maybe they`re getting used to us being there as they leave church.
The supporter of the day was a woman walking behind her husband who gave us a big thumbs up then put her finger to her lips so we would`nt holler and make her man turn around. A lot of the drivers shouted their support. It was another good day to protest.
