I'm driving to the store on Saturday and I find myself behind a black Dodge Ram pickup, driven by a blonde dude who could not have been north of 30. The truck is adorned with several stickers; one from the NRA, a U.S. Marine emblem, and right in the window behind the driver was a bumper sticker that simply said
"Give War a Chance"
It's a really absurd idea that as a nation have gone from one who promotes peace to one that would rather wait for some unjust war to run its course; "Just wait, you see results if you let the war continue". There would have been U.S. deaths in six figures if we followed that logic during Vietnam, but according to Dear Leader, it would have been worth it. That's why we need to stay in Iraq. Absurd, but there will still be that 25% that will agree.
On the flip side, while on my way to a Phillies game I was behind a Lexus Rx400h SUV (Lexus' hybrid SUV gets 31 MPG!) with three stickers on the back.
"If you are not outraged, you are not paying attention"
"War is not the answer"
I can't remember the third one, but it was along the same lines.
I found it ironic that the driver of the huge Dodge Ram V-8 equipped truck was so pro-war, while the driver of the hybrid vehicle was obviously anti-war.
Back to the driver of this pickup? Was he a service member on leave from Iraq, or just a typical Chickenhawk?
