My friend just purchased new property and made an interesting discovery. There was a house built on the property in 1912. During excavation for the basement the artifact pictured below was found. It is currently owned by the grandson of the man who built the house. I won't give the exact location of the property because my friend does not want treasure hunters in his yard. It is along the Stillwater River, a tributary of the Great Miami River, in Ohio. It is not far from some famous mound structures left by the Fort Ancients, Adenas and Hopewells. A local archaeology professor believes it may be a hoax. I am hoping that someone here with archaeology experience could help with identification of this unique item. It is very bulky and heavy. It's hard to imagine what kind of tool this is. Please help!!!!!!
