ABC World News had a pretty good report on Yearly Kos.
But I was bemused by the reporter's reference to Daily Kos getting 600,000 "hits"
daily. Ummm...shouldn't that be 600,000 "page views"? It's been almost a decade since the cover was blown on what a useless metric "hits" are. The term is seldom used these days. So did the reporter just make a clearcut factual error? If so, it's disheartening.
But wait. There's more. A few minutes later George Stephanopoulos referred to "e-mailers" when he meant "bloggers."
I'll bet the folks who work at ABC News online were pulling their hair out -- after they got through gasping in shock and horror, and then falling to the floor and going into convulsions. The online people bust their butts to get in the game with CNN and MSNBC. Then the "grown ups in charge" in the mother ship cost ABC News precious street cred by making dumb mistakes. Not good.
Maybe an intern should check scripts!
